Wow

Its been a while. So I am giving our blog some much needed love. Let's see what has happened since... MARCH! Rae is about the same. We had JD's 15 month appointment, the dr is concerned about his hearing so we need to call an ENT to get his hearing evaluated and call EI to get him evaluated. Its going to be fun :) lol. We are going to be moving JD to a toddler bed soon. It was going to be today but, and this is probably the biggest thing to happen recently.
Tuesday morning I woke up feeling ok. But one I got up and moving around I didn't feel so great and even passed out. I called my mom and she came to watch the kids. I spent the day in bed. Then Wednesday morning I woke up and didn't feel much better. So off to the ER I went. Blood work came back fine. They were pumping me full of fluids and that didn't really seem to be fixing the symptoms. When I would stand up my pulse would go wicked high. My blood pressure would be fine though. Usually that is a sign of dehydration. But that didn't seem to be it. Finally other tests came back and my white blood cell count was low which indicates a viral infection. Sent home to rest and get plenty of liquids. At least we know what is wrong right?

Oh MY! I forgot the the most important thing that has happened! I am NOW an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay :)

Feel free to shop on my website:

Always looking to book Facials and classes as well

But for now I have to go I have to rest. Hopefully I will be back on more.

Heartbeat

There have been a couple days in the past week where I have been reminded of being in the hospital listening to JD's heartbeat. I have decided that I need a heartbeat bear. I understand that it sounds strange but I kinda want to go back to that. It was relaxing and calming. although some of that could be because I know the outcome. Either way I think I need to find JD's bear lol :)

Ah life

We've been busy with appointments and broken cars. The van was in the shop for tires and breaks 2 weeks ago and Tuesday on Isaac's way to work the breaks failed. Luckily he didn't have to stop quick and he made it to work safely. We had it towed back to the shop that worked on it and they fixed a broken connection. Just before we sent the van into the shop Isaac was on his way home from work when the he lost the transmission in his car. So now we are trying to figure out what to do with that as it sits in our yard. Because of only having one car and the appointments we have been very busy. I feel like there is not enough hours in the day to get everything done. I am looking for a job and I have no idea when everything we have to do normally is going to get done... If I can find a job.

The kids are doing well. JD is climbing on everything, luckily no falls... YET. Rae is still working on letters and still loves coloring. The both love reading. JD has started really dancing, he lifts his legs up. Its wicked adorable. I've been trying to get a video of it, no luck so far.

I wanted to update but I wanted to go to bed. So this is all you get.

Fevers

JD had a fever for a few days last week. It was rough, topped at 103ish. The Tylenol and Motrin kept it there, so who knows how high it was. Well two nights ago Rae woke up with a fever. Yesterday she took a  nap and she woke up shaking. She let me put the thermometer in her mouth for about 10 seconds, it was at 104* so I gave her some Tylenol and that brought it down to about 103*. We shall see how she feels tomorrow. She napped from 430-6pm so I am hoping her fever doesn't break tonight, because if it does she will be up wicked early, which means I should probably go to bed now. And hopefully this is the end of our sicknesses for this winter season... Mostly because I hope winter will be over soon ;)

On another note, I think I just heard another mouse! We caught 4 and then last night I saw one so Isaac put up a LOT of traps. We caught 2 more. So 6 total. Hopefully if there are more we catch them!

New Blog Layout

I hope you like. I was trying to figure out how I could make the actual entry part of the blog larger without making the blog wicked long Because I could have just put everything on one side. Most of what was on the right side is in a page which has a link at the top of the page. Plus its stuff that if you know us you don't need or may not want to see every time you come to our side. I might figure out how to put the "blogs we follow" on another page too, but I think that is the only other one I can move. It would be a little more work to manually add all the blogs, but its such a long list even if I only put the active blogs it would still be a long list.

Now for a big ramble about what has been happening :)
Today was the second day it has hit 60* Very exciting. Because of this warmth Isaac was able to get all the ice off the driveway. It is great, we will be able to get up the driveway with no problems now it was 3 inches thick. Even opened the door, it lets in so much light, I am wicked excited for summer and having this open all the time.

JD gave himself a pretty good fat lip the other day. See the left (his right) Its not really swollen, just red on the outside and white on the inside.

We have a mouse. Or more than one. There has been a  LOT of poop everywhere. This morning was the last straw. I found poop on our table. So we have Altoids and bay leaves apparently mice don't like peppermint or the bay leaves. We shall see.

Isaac and I have been watching Nova and  Nova Science Now I have always been very interested in everything and this has been a great learning experience. It is actually where I learned more about Watson the computer that compeated on Jeopardy! and when it was going to compete

I think that is it for now, Isaac and I have a couple shows we want to watch before he heads to work. I know there was more I wanted to say, especially about the kids, but I can't remember any of it.

Ah... Memories

Earlier today my sister called and asked me if I could bring her to pick up her fiancé's car around 6:30pm. We ate dinner around 5pm and then hung out, it was fun. JD was able to interact and play, Rae was in a good mood and the four of us just hung out.

JD is getting the idea of smiling for the camera instead of trying to move around once he sees the flash which when taking pictures on the phone.

Around 6:00pm cuddle time left to pick up my sister. I picked her up, we went to pick up the car.

This is where it gets interesting and the reason for this title, and reference in my Facebook status.

She got into the car and started it. I waited to make sure it was going to be ok. We both pulled out around the same time. I thought to look in my rear-view mirror. I saw her backup lights come on, so I called her. She tells me she couldn't get the door closed. I asked her if she wanted me to come back till she figured out what she was going to do. She said, yes, so I did. When I got back she informed me that when she called her fiancĂ© he knew exactly what had happened. They washed the car and the door locking mechanisms froze. Chrys told me that when she went to pull away the door flung open, when she went to close it she thought it didn't sound right, but she just kept going. Woops lol. Then she informs me that the bigger problem is she opened the passenger door to see where the mechanism should have been. So now both doors aren't closing. I started laughing. I figured the best solution was to both drive to her house in Derek's car, then she could drive me back down in her car to get mine. She decided that we would go get dinner for them and hopefully by then the doors would be fixed. So my first rid in a GTO is now tied for my most comedic car trip the other is a childhood trip with Gram and Gramp and my cousins to Canobie Lake Park All 8 cousins in the back of a minivan swaying back and forth to some music. It wasn't until I was older that I realized what was actually happening. As a young child I thought it was fun, I didn't realize how funny it was. This was just as funny. Chrys went in and got some food. While she was in getting it I tried the doors a couple times. On her way out I tired again, nothing. She got into the car and asked if I was able to get it closed. I told her no, but tried again. It closed! So she was able to bring me back to my car and I headed home.

Even though the situation wasn't the best, it was still fun and I will remember it. Partly because it was my first time getting to ride in the GTO but also just because I enjoy having a good laugh with my little sister :)

Forgetful

I can remember dates and when things happened, because I can relate them to other things. But when it comes to cute this Rae does and says or just other mundane things that happen throughout the day- forget it. I used to be better. I say a report once on people who remember EVERY day of their lives (well, back to when the average person remembers) I think I have some of that because I don't know many (if any) who remembers things the way I do. When I was working at Stop and Shop some joked about kids messing with your memory, I swear they really do. One guy said it has to do with having your mind focused so much on them. That could be, but I swear half my mind is really missing sometimes lol.
Oh well, it is what it is. More laundry to do. Oh, like often times I forget I put laundry in so I will be waiting for the washer and then it will be hours before I remember. Why isn't there a buzzer of some sort on the washer like there is the dryer. I know the washer is done first so the dryer would be the one if I was only going to put it on one. But what if you don't have a dryer, you aren't going to use the dryer this load, you are only doing 1 load, or its the first load?

Paul's Deployment

(Paul is Isaac's youngest brother)
It's been a week since we got to talk to him, not that we talk all that frequently anyway. But we talked to him right before he left. He called Isaac's parents yesterday, at 4am. Things are going well in Kuwait, the main thing being that he is happy to not have to do anything to stay warm. (coming from Fairbanks, Alaska this is a big deal) He does some training there and then he will be headed to Iraq for a year. Once he gets back he only has about 6 months before he is out of the army altogether, I can't believe its been that long already, I mean I know there is still a year left, but a year goes by so fast I can't believe its already been three.

I just wanted to quickly update on this because I am laying in bed about to get up and I am realizing that a week has already passed. Time flies. Things will be so different when he gets back. He will turn 21 over there. Rae will be 4 and in preschool (hopefully) JD will be 2 and talking (hopefully). We may or may not still be living in this apartment. Our 6 year anniversary is this summer. And we will both inch our way closer to 30 lol (still not quite there yet though) So much happens in a year.

Just Breathe

We had another snow storm this week, well two actually, one right after another. The second one dropped some freezing rain making the snow heavy and weighing it down. Our landlord had the day off and went out around 2pm, after the first storm. Isaac went to get some groceries and when he got back he started working on trying to move my van. It wasn't moving. I got in and he and our landlord pushed. I got it out of the snow and into where he had already removed some snow. I couldn't get it back up the driveway but I was able to back down it. So the plan was to get a running start, except there was 3" of snow/slush on the road. Well, I thought that was the problem until Isaac told me the rear right tire wasn't turning. CRAAP! He worked on it, the landlord "helped" (he tries, but lacks some common sense) finally he disconnected the break on that side so the tire would turn and moved it back into he driveway. He hasn't had a chance to take a look at it again yet.

At one point during this whole thing I came in the house to call my father and when I turned around JD was up on the couch :-) so in the midst of something awful I am wicked proud of JD!!

Where Does Time Go

It really is an honest question. And my answer is I have no idea. Things have been so busy since Christmas and I think it is partly because we have been so sick. I've had some sort of sickness since Thanksgiving mostly just colds but I did get the stomach bug and the kids have each had a bug and a bad cold since before Christmas. Its been rough. I wanted to get online and update because it was a year ago that I went into the doctors office hoping he would tell me to head over to the hospital that they would induce me then. Well, what happened I think was even better just because I got to plan a little more. He told me I was at 5cm and the next time he would be on would be Monday, so if I was still pregnant which most people wouldn't be but because of this pregnancy it wouldn't surprise him he would induce me. There were a couple of reasons this was nice. We got to go out Saturday night and get some last minute things although I had some strong contractions and probably should have gone in and my mom and sister were able to come down. My mom to watch Rae and my sister to be there when the baby JD was born. So right now I am thinking about the last few days of being pregnant. Because of the events that surrounded it they are pretty burned into my memory. Including stupid people saying things like "of course he wants to induce its what is convenient for him" Two things saying this proved to me. 1- People don't know how things work now. Any doctor could be on at any time, it isn't about YOUR doctor so much. 2- they didn't know my story. It was what was convenient for me too. I am not a fan of induction. In fact just 3 weeks before that another doctor was talking about it and I wanted nothing to do with it. But by almost 39 weeks I just wanted to be done. I didn't want to see how long I could go. Although as I write this I am starting to wonder, but over all I am happy with my chose. JD was born at 8 lbs 9 oz at 39 weeks 1 day. I don't think I wanted to go to 40 weeks. I mean, he practically fell out when I had him lol but I still don't want to know what it would have been like to deliver a 9.5 lb baby. Thank you lol

Rae wants to eat a Popsicle with me so I have to get going. I think by his 1st birthday probably on I will post his birth story finally lol

100th Post!

My 100th post, wicked exciting!! :) and just like I usually do I have a couple of thoughts racing through my head so I will make them short (going with what I said last month about wanting more short posts)

At the current moment I am frustrated with JD. If I need him to be up because we have to go somewhere he is napping. But if we aren't going anywhere and I want him to nap he is wide awake. I guess I should have seen this coming. After all it is just like before he was born. We didn't want him to come as he was coming early but then once we wanted him to come he didn't want to. Silly boy. Its a good thing I love him :)

Another things that is going through my mind is holidays and pictures. I have found that we either have pictures or video but not both. Since thinking about that I realize we don't have that many of either. I think this is because I didn't like living behind a camera watching my children live. But at the same time I can't relive it because I don't have the pictures. Does anyone have a way to be able to participate in their children's lives and still take pictures and/or video?

I guess that is all for now.

Last Day!

Isaac is done with full time schooling. He will finish, eventually, but for now he is done doing the full time school, full time work, part time family thing. It will be full time family and work from now on. Next fall he plans to start taking classes again, but one at a time. You have no idea how exciting this is for us! It is going to stink when I get a job, but we are going to enjoy the little time we have now. I am trying not to stress about having the kids watched, we moved closer to family for a reason.

I'll update more on the following later (I have a really bad head ache and should go to bed now)
Rae's tantrums- 15 minutes of full blown 'someone is killing me' screaming because I handed her a green M&M instead of a brown although she said green is just too much.
JD's climbing adventures- He scalled a mirror that was tilted up against something, Rae's chair and then was going for the table and if we put one pillow down he is able to get up on the couch.
Thinking of all the people I know who have the stomach bug that is going around and praying we don't get it, once was more than enough.

New App

Trying out a new app on my phone. I'll tell you about how last night I was freezing. It just kept getting colder. This wasn't the first time it had happened. Our landlord showed Isaac how to fix it, but he was at work. I was able to call Isaac and he walked me through it. That was around 1 am. When Isaac came home at 5ish it was off again. This meant he couldn't do any dishes- no hot water. So they came again to fix it. Hopefully it is fixed for good now.

Christmas Pics

It was a long day... Our WIC appointment was in Beverly and ended up taking 2 HOURS!! Then we got home and I was on the phone for 2 hours trying to figure something out for a Christmas gift for Isaac. My plan was: When we got home from the WIC appointment tell Isaac that I wanted to take a family picture and then order some cards from snapfish. Well.... about an hour into the phone call I start orchestrating taking the pics. good mom's can multitask ;) We even took some while I waited on hold. Ordered the cards, they should be here Monday. By then I will have figured out who I am going to be sending them too and hopefully I ordered enough. Here are the pics I used for the card:
^This one is cropped for JD^
^Our Family^

^This one is cropped for Rae^

The card says something about the "Christmas Season" which means I have till January 6th to get them out... hopefully it doesn't take me that long though :)

This Time of Year

There are quite a few reasons that this time of year I think about my favorite movie The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. One reason is it is usually on TV the weekend of Thanksgiving. Another is December 17th, 2005 is when my Gram passed away and she and Gramp bought me a special edition of this movie that year for Christmas They were also a big part of why it was my favorite movie. I got a few things from them in their passings Gramp died March 29th, 2006 one was Gramp's copy of the book copyright 1903. I am looking at getting an Android phone and so Isaac and I were looking at the Kindle app and the free books. Well, I downloaded the book and the intro very much surprises me.

Introduction

Folklore, legends, myths and fairy tales have followed childhood through the ages, for every healthy youngster has a wholesome and instinctive love for stories fantastic, marvelous and manifestly unreal. The winged fairies of Grimm and Andersen have brought more happiness to childish hearts than all other human creations.

Yet the old time fairy tale, having served for generations, may now be classed as "historical" in the children's library; for the time has come for a series of newer "wonder tales" in which the stereotyped genie, dwarf and fairy are eliminated, together with all the horrible and blood-curdling incidents devised by their authors to point a fearsome moral to each tale. Modern education includes morality; therefore the modern child seeks only entertainment in its wonder tales and gladly dispenses with all disagreeable incident.

Having this thought in mind, the story of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" was written solely to please children of today. It aspires to being a modernized fairy tale, in which the wonderment and joy are retained and the heartaches and nightmares are left out.

L. Frank Baum

Chicago, April, 1900.

I just found it very interesting. Now to go back to reading the story.

Deep Breaths

We are getting there... slowly but surely. The cable guy had to come again today because things were fulling installed yesterday. Because they came back in 30 days we get 3 months of HBO free Yes I know to call and cancel. Most of our clothes are put away, we still have to figure out where some of them are going to go. Unfortunately I think we are going to have to squeeze another dresser in here :( or maybe just a different one, but then that means no TV. Which some people are totally for no tv in the bedroom Isaac and I only go to bed at the same time 2 times a week if we are lucky and having grown up in a small house and hearing the TV as I fell asleep I find comfort in falling asleep to it. Anyway... So clothes are mostly done. Right now I am a little more than ticked that it takes over 1.5 hours to dry a load of clothes. Isaac is going to pull the washer/dryer away from the wall and see if something is blocked. It better be because I am wicked excited to have my own washer and dryer. Isaac was just coughing in the living room and the monitor lit up :( the doors were made to be handicap accessible which is a little ridicules considering how small the apartment is. Anyway... They are very thin and very big, so you can hear just about everything through them. We are going to see what we can do with the kids door, maybe put something on it to block the noise... I did put up some stuff between our apartment and the landlord's house. It is only kinda working.. actually mostly all it is doing is blocking the site of the door. My mom is going to see if there is something else we can put behind the curtain yes it is one of the ones that is supposed to block noise. We still have about half the kitchen to unpack and then we have to tackle what everyone helped us pack up the day we moved which is all the crap we had all over the apartment. Hopefully we can figure out something to do with that. All in all I guess things are going ok but I feel like I am going crazy. I can't rest and I am wicked exhausted. In fact today I got a chill so I am pretty sure I am coming down with something, which is definitely not helping the situation.

Rae: She has stopped listening, almost completely, no lying. It is really weird. I think it is because of the move and I hope she moves past it soon because she is really bothered by it.

JD: He took a step fully unassisted. He was walking toward something but for a full step and a half he wasn't touching anything. I tried to get him to do it again it was hard cause he was tired and hungry but he didn't just go straight down, he thought about and started to attempt a step. I was really hoping he would be walking by now :-/

Getting Somewhere

My mom came down today to help pack. Most of the kitchen is done and all the books. Some of the kids closet is done. There are some blankets which I haven't gotten to in total yet and their clothes. The DVDs are done and we aren't packing the drawers of dressers so that is done. There is still a lot of food to be packed and we have a lot of coffee mugs for people who don't drink coffee. Isaac is going to get the moving truck Saturday morning and then we are going to pack it up. Once we get to the new apartment I won't have internet access till Tuesday. I will be able to update Facebook from my phone and see some stuff, but I won't be here.
...

Sorry. Left to watch some Glee... Can't believe Kurt is transferring lol. All over the place is how I have been feeling recently so if this post doesn't make sense that is why. I don't have time to sit and do anything. Now I am going to watch Dancing with the Stars. GO KYLE!! lol

Long Week

We are moving on Saturday!! There is so much to do this week. My mom is coming down tomorrow to help me pack. I don't even know where to start. Although at some point today I will probably start packing the kitchen. I am hoping we can use paper for most of the week. I made something last night that was very big that will hopefully last us the week. Which is actually only tonight and tomorrow night. We are going to be spending Wednesday night at Isaac's parent's house, Thursday (Thanksgiving) watching the Pats/Lions game at Isaac's parent's which actually kinda stinks because out of everyone they have the worst TV. But oh well. The game is a bigger deal because Isaac's parents are from MI. Even though the Pats are going to win it should be fun anyway. Then we are going to my Aunt's house like we always do. Then spending Thursday night at my parent's. I wish we had some money because I am getting so many coupons and stuff for Black Friday. There is something I really want from Victoria Secret its some bag full of stuff but I don't have $60 to spend there... Even though there is stuff I need from there and could spend that much easily. I am going to be putting some pics up of the apartment on my Facebook soon. None of the outside though. There are a lot of safety things we have to do and we have to buy a tub thing for the kids, but hopefully it will work out well.

I should go. I have to look for a tub and a gate. Plus JD should be up from his nap soon and I don't know how much longer Rae is going to leave me alone. I don't know when I am going to get back on, I will try because I want to reminisce about a year ago. Also, I don't know what the internet changeover is going to look like yet. Isaac is going to call today I think.
Oh... and I want to talk about Rae's 3rd Birthday (WHICH IS TODAY!!) and what the last three years have looked like. Its crazy!

Wish us luck :)

We're Moving!!

I went to look at an apartment today. The bedrooms are a little smaller than what we have here but we aren't planning on unpacking everything once we move. Plus a lot of the stuff we have stored under beds and cribs is baby toys that we don't need anymore. Plus we are getting rid of the red couch :( which is kind of sad. We are going to miss it. But it is getting old it is old already, it was when Isaac got it lol but it looks like the couch in the basement of That 70s Show and it is comfy. Its mostly the bedrooms that are smaller. The larger of the two is smaller than the kids room here, but we are going to make it work. It is $1000 a month heat/hot water included. So the only thing we have to pay for is electricity it does have an electric oven, which I am not a fan. But the price is great. It has a stacking washer and dryer, but no dishwasher. I'd rather have the washer/dryer than a dishwasher... although I would love to have both lol.
I have to go to bed, I haven't been getting much sleep recently I am not sure why, I just haven't plus we have a busy week and a half ahead of us. We move on the 27! CRAZY!! Its exciting but bittersweet too. It just happened so quick!
